No Need to be Induced!

Lindsay Kay Eaton
Born: July 23, 2008
Weight: 5 lbs 11 oz
Height: 20 Inches
So...for those of you who want to hear the story, this is what happened:
I had been having contractions and not feeling so great for several weeks. On Monday, July 14th I had a doctors appointment and was dialated to a 2-3. My doctor was going to be out of town the week of and the week following up to Lindsay's due date (August 12, 2008) and I was starting to feel antsy about having her. So, we decided to try to get labor going without inducing at the following appointment and hope that Lindsay would arrive before August.
I continued to have intense contractions, mostly at night, and was feeling like the time was near. I had another doctors appointment on July 22nd and found out I was dialated to a 4-5. The doctor decided that it would be best to induce me even though I was only 37 weeks. I agreed. I felt like she was coming.
Later Tuesday night, I continued to have my intense - but irregular - contractions and knew that something was happening. We went to the hospital around 1:00 in the morning and I had dialated to a 5-6. I was not supposed to be induced until 6:30 that morning but by 7:06, Lindsay had arrived. My contractions were NEVER regular. Even at the end they were anywhere from 4 to 8 minutes apart. So...proves you can be in labor without regular contractions! We had a few minor complications with Lindsay having her hand behind her head when it was time to push. The doctor never broke my water, in hopes that it would give her enough room to move her hand so I wouldn't be delivering her shoulder and head at the same time. Luckily, at the last minute she moved her hand.
We are so glad that she is here. She is healthy and doing well. She is extremely calm and easy-going, which is a relief to me. The boys have been so excited to have her home and will be great big brothers. The entire pregnancy was scary and a little challenging and we appreciate everyone who helped out so that little Lindsay could make it into this world!!

Not My Little Baby Anymore!

I just got pictures of Austin taken and thought I would post a few. He is so sweet... when he wants to be. The sad thing is that he's not going to be my little baby anymore. I just found out that I will be induced tomorrow and Lindsay will be arriving. Austin wants so badly to be a big boy and copies everything Evan says and does. He helps me grow as an individual and parent. I couldn't imagine our family without his silly laugh, his loud personality, and his adorable blue eyes! I love you Austin!

As I get closer to the end of my pregnancy, I've started to stress out a little about how I'm going to handle 3 kids. Evan wanted to take pictures on Sunday so we let him take a few pictures and then I decided I wanted one of him and I together. It's a cheesy picture with Evan doing the perfect fake smile but I love it because it reminds me of why I have kids. I couldn't imagine my life without them. Evan is such a joy and such a sweet child. Can I secretly pray that our little girl is like Evan and not Austin? Either way, I love them both and will love Lindsay (yes, that's going to be her name) just as much as I love my boys. It's exciting and scary but here goes the next chapter in the Eaton family.

4th of July

We went to Colorado Springs for the 4th of July to hang out with Nathan's Brother and his family. We got some of our own fireworks to set off and Evan had a lot of fun. Austin, as you can tell from the picture, was afraid of the fireworks and jumped in the car to hide. He LOVED the big firework display, however, while Evan was the one to ask us if we could go home yet because he was bored. Oh, the joys! This last picture is of Mason, Evan, and Austin. We got this just before Austin jumped in the car.
